Christian Women
What is the St. Lawrence Confraternity of Catholic Women all about?
Our Mission is to Empower, Support and Educate. We hold 4 meetings a year. These are active meetings where we discuss ideas for service projects and events that help meet the goals of our mission. Meetings are held at 7pm in the Parish Center, either the first Monday or Tuesday of February, May, August and November. Please watch the bulletin for dates. We hold only 2 fundraisers a year with a bake sale and a raffle drawing in November. These funds are used to assist with the events and service project needs for the coming year. Here is a look at what we’ve accomplished over the last year:
January—fund 12 months of Lighthouse Catholic Media CD’s. A great resource for building faith in our everyday lives –CD’s are available for free to anyone, display is located on the counter in the entry.
February –Tied prayer blankets during meeting. Blankets are distributed to parishioners going through difficult times. Please contact Joan Corrigan, if there is someone we can offer support to, with this outreach program.
March –Support SJAS, as part of their annual Spring Fundraiser for Catholic Education.
April –Collect, package and deliver Easter Baskets of goodies for children at local Women’s Shelter.
May –Support our parish family’s children with gifts given to First Communicant’s, Confirmation students and support of local high school graduation parties.
June – provide support for mission work by parishioners, as they travel to foreign countries. Also provided assistance to the St. Elizabeth Mission Group from our parish, to help in their mission to make baby blankets for mother’s in need.
July –collect and deliver donations to BirthLine, from our Baby Care Essential’s service project.
August – The St. Lawrence Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima is available for you to host in your home. Please contact Judy Ganz to coordinate pick up/delivery of the Pilgrim Statue. Let Our Lady make a pilgrimage to your home, offering comfort, peace, hope.
September –host an Ice Cream Social to build relationships among our parish community.
October – Collect and fill purses/bags with personal hygiene items for women. Deliver to Women’s shelter and Street Outreach Workers to meet needs of homeless women/teens in the St. Cloud area.
November – The CCW members bake goodies to be sold at their booth during the Henry’s Craft Sale event in Foley. The CCW members donate items for a raffle and sell tickets for the drawing held during the St. Lawrence KC Turkey bingo that Sunday prior to Thanksgiving. Budgets are set at this month’s meeting, as we plan for the coming year.
December –Deliver Christmas gifts to the residents of the Lang Home. Members work to purchase items from each resident’s wish list, to make their Christmas celebration extra special.
And as part of the CCW membership, members receive the blessings of ongoing support and prayers of our members. The CCW prays for past and present members, including leading the Rosary at the wake of deceased members.
If you are interested in what we do, please join us at our meetings. Membership is not required and we are always looking for ways to fulfill the CCW mission. If you have questions, please contact one of our current officers: Pat Schneider, President; Judy Ganz, Secretary; Mardelle Hinkemeyer, Treasurer.

“There is a variety of gifts but always the same Spirit; there are all sorts of service to be done, but always to the same Lord; working in all sorts of different ways in different people, it is the same God who is working in all of them.”
